Dr. Darrell Morden
Dr. Darrell Morden has been
in practice since 2002, after completion of his dental training at
University of Alberta in Edmonton. Dr. Morden simultaneously
conducted research and earned a Masters of Science degree in
Chemistry, at Simon Fraser University, in the field of protein
engineering and recombinant cellular expression and enzyme
selection. His research program built on the undergraduate
foundation he received after finishing a Bachelor of Science at
Trinity Western University. These programs positioned Dr. Morden to
present research at places as honored as the National Institutes of
Health in Bethesda Maryland, and the Protein Society, among others.
Currently, Dr. Morden spends a lot of time in advanced training
that enables the highest quality of dentistry to be available for
patient care. Dental implants, veneers and cosmetics and laser
therapy are some examples of patient treatments routinely found in
the practice. Special interests include implant-assisted
reconstructions and over-denture stabilization, and cosmetic
restoration.
Dr. Morden also spends a
great deal of time taking continuing education with his team,
especially in the area of new dental technology. With an emphasis
on patient education, the use of digital x-rays, for example, is a
new technology that enables clear communication when interacting
with patients. This technology also permits lower levels of
radiation and improved diagnostic quality. In essence, the patient
can see everything the dentist sees and participates in treatment
planning and decision making. The team’s goal is to provide a
quality comprehensive patient experience, focused on the patient’s
chief concern, where prevention is always paramount.
Membership in the Canadian
Dental Association, the Alberta Dental Association & College,
the Alberta Dental Implant Academy, the International Team for
Implantology and the Calgary District Dental Society provides
opportunities to serve the local community with up-to-date
treatment information. The most important organization in general
practice, however, is the team of well-trained staff whose
expertise permits Dr. Morden to maintain a wide scope of care, and
who make the patient experience smooth and comfortable.
As a committed Christian, Dr.
Morden chooses to trust in God for guidance and strength. He also
lives and promotes a healthy lifestyle and places emphasis on
family, hard work and recreation. His wife Carla is his valued
personal and business partner, and together they are raising two
wonderful children. In his free time, he enjoys flying, golfing,
and gardening.
